POEMS: The Gem & The Still, Small Voice & After Sleep

The Gem
Deeply embedded in the earth
A lost pearl in the sea
Coated by old historic rocks
Like a child hugged by a mother
Lies quiet and peaceful
In perfect beauty and dazzle
Awaiting the touch of dynamite
A fish brought out of the deeps
To be the treasure of mankind.

The Still, Small Voice
Take a vow of humility
Chew the cud of meekness
Sleep, the sleep of loneliness
Sing the song of submission
Tell the virtue of goodness
Blow the trumpet low
Proclaiming the crown of holiness.

After Sleep
I slept and dreamed
That life was beautiful,
That nature was wonderful,
That human mind was powerful.
I wake up and find
That life is wicked,
That human mind is in chaos.
