POEMS: Money & Be a Hypocrite

Money
“Beware of friends!
You know
How your home is;
Farewell
Kwesi,
The Good God,
Will lead you.”
Concluded Maami.

Then I left home,
My old ancestral home
Fromm the gods of my fathers,
To begin life.
The urge to work spurred me on,
I felt homesick;
But it was too late to comment,
For a new kind of love had taken root in me,
That was the love of money.

Be a Hypocrite
Who are you? Are you yourself?
Will you ever be yourself?
Stop! Change! And be part of the world.
Or it would hold you guilty of madness.
Be a  hypocrite.

Thinking naturally is natural.
Speaking your mind is right.
But the world will not stand your truths,
The world will not stand reality.
Be a hypocrite.

Give the world sugar and honey,
Give it sundae and candy.
Let it snore and sleep
But dare not stir it out of its dreaming.
Be a hypocrite.

Pretend to love, and do not be just.
Keep your logic to yourself.
It is not truth that moves the world.
It is not your ideals that keep it going
It is the brute force called hypocrisy.
It is pretence at everything called virtue.
Be a hypocrite.
